Great story. I loved the contemporary photograph as well as the colorful graphic from the third grader.

" In the 1960's, when Bill and Gertie Schott had their Pioneer Meat Market in that building, Bill showed me the crack in the metal reinforced front concrete step in front of the building. This is where a power / telephone pole fell down as it burned, just missing the building but hitting the step and cracking the sidewalk.

Also, it was pointed out to me ( after the enlargement of my postcards of the fire were finished by Kodak for Collector's Choice ), line men were re-stringing the wires even as the poles smoldered in the aftermath." 2014
